Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why Silk?
Ordinary cotton or bamboo sheets can create friction against your baby’s delicate hair, leading to tangles, frizz, and even infant bald spots over time. Our 100% Mulberry Silk allows hair to glide effortlessly across the surface, reducing friction and helping to keep hair soft, smooth, and healthy.
Naturally gentle on sensitive skin, silk is a breathable and hydrating fibre that helps maintain comfort throughout the night and while on the go. Its temperature-regulating properties help keep bub cool, cosy, and comfortable in every season.
Silk is also naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, making it an ideal choice for babies with sensitive skin or allergies.
Why 22 Momme Silk?
Momme (mm) is the unit used to measure the weight and quality of silk fabric. Generally, the higher the momme, the more durable, luxurious, and premium the silk will feel. All of our products are crafted from specially commissioned 22 momme silk, carefully selected to meet our high standards. This ensures every piece is beautifully soft, exceptionally durable, and made to provide long-lasting luxury.
How to care for your silk products?
Hand washing is the gentlest and most effective way to care for your silk bedding, helping preserve its softness, beauty, and longevity. We recommend using a mild, pH-neutral detergent specifically formulated for silk or delicate fabrics to keep it in its best condition.
Can I wash my silk products in the Washing Machine?
While hand washing is always the best way to care for your silk products, we know life gets busy! If needed, your silk bedding can be safely machine washed with a little extra care. Use a gentle, pH-neutral detergent designed specifically for silk or delicate fabrics, and always select a delicate cycle with a cold wash setting (maximum 30°C). For added protection, we also recommend placing your bedding in a non-snag delicates wash bag where possible.
How do I dry my silk products?
Never tumble dry your silk pillowcase or bedding, as heat can damage the delicate fibres. For best results, always allow your silk products to air dry naturally. Avoid placing them on radiators or in direct heat, as this can weaken and damage the silk over time.
Can I iron my silk fitted sheets?
Yes, our silk products can be ironed if needed. Always use a cool iron setting and turn the fabric inside out before ironing to help protect the delicate silk fibres.
